My wife and I are expecting to move back to our home State of Ohio in the next couple of months. She can easily land a job as a Physical Therapist Assistant, but my military career doesn’t seem very conducive to civilian H.R., or Admin Officer- type jobs since I don’t have those SPHR, PHR designations.

I passed my salesperson course but, every one I talk to is telling me it is a bad time to sell Real Estate because the market is terrible but I have invested my time and money in this and its been two months and I dont know if to take the test or look for another career option what do you guys (and ladies ) think? should I go ahead like I planned get licensed and wait for the market to get better or skip it and do something else. by the way I really like the business.

I am interesting in working in Real Estate ( CA) and I am trying to find a list/website with at least some description of possible careers within the field to look over to determine what area of real estate would suit me best. For example: Sales, Appraiser, Mortgage, Consultant, etc.
I’m aware of the general well known fields listed above - but would like to know any/all options.
A general internet search only gets me to actual job openings. And that is not what I am looking for.

I’m in school for fashion merchandising, but it seems like I’m constantly thinking about real estate and it seems that my “passion for fashion” is beginning to dwindle. I think real estate is a career that I would absolutely LOVE. Should I change career paths?
Actually, I’m not really interested in SELLING real estate. I’m more interested in something like real estate appraisal.
Ummm, yoji, what do you mean I’ve lost my passion so soon?? I’m a senior in college and I think most college students consider various careers while they are in school. Also, are you familiar with both fashion merchandising and real estate? I’ve been studying this for 3 years and for about a year now I’ve been really drawn to real estate and really bored with fashion classes.

I think I’d enjoy real estate more because I’m more drawn to it. I’m very good at math and love the real estate process from what I know about it. That’s why I’m interested in Real Estate.

I was recently laid off and now I am looking for a career change. I have always been interested in real estate and this would be a good time for me to make the transition into a real estate career.
My only worry is that the market is so slow right now. Money is tied up, and people don’t seem to be buying homes right now. I want some opinions on entering real estate in this current economic condition. Preferably people with real estate knowledge or experience will answer my question.

Hi , im looking to get into real estate as a sales agent can any current agents tell me how hard it is to obtain a loan for a house right now? and is the market as bad as the news makes it out to be?
